The Gibson tour part 2 (Congleton)

The second part of our family holiday was in Congleton, Cheshire. We did a few things, but mainly it was Mark and Marianne’s wedding so here lots of lovely wedding photos mixed with a trip to a farm (as you do), and some pictures of the wedding flowers before-hand because I was asked to record them before the big day.

It also includes my favorite ever picture of Bobbie:

Martin and Ali’s wedding

So this is the wedding of Martin Tuvey-Smith and Alison Foster. It was a great day and Bobbies third wedding, she was dancing 3 and half hours past her bed time so that was a big effort from her. I found my new 55-200mm lens was great for getting those natural shots in the church and during the official photos.

I’ve put a big version of my favorite photo from the day before you get to the rest, it was during the first dance and well I think I caught the light just right, let me know what you think and which you like of the others and why, just comment so I know people read this!

As always everything shot by Nikon D3000 with 18-55mm and 55-200mm Nikon lens edited in Photoshop7.

The last wedding of the year!

Goodness, it seems like ages since I posted anything here, Hello! I’m not dead just have a child now so most of my outside communication happens in micro blogging (see right). But on the 28th I was called to Wales to see Rach (my friend from uni) and Doug (her other half) get married.

Now I don’t normally like non-church weddings I find them odd and rushed and lots of other things, but this was sweet, romantic and really quite nice. We had Bobbie (Roberta) with us so we didn’t stay for nighttime dancing but we did see everything else and it was a great wedding.

Hope you had a day to remember you two!

Normal rules apply, see the little photos below click on one to be transported to flickr land where the photos look better.

Victoria & Toong Chin’s Wedding: Last wedding of 2010

So here it is the last wedding I attended of 2010. Once again I was on drumming duties for the wedding which was great to do with my previous church worship band. We had a great day and the Chinese wedding traditions were great to experience (they like tea more than me!). During this night I came up with the great pint pocket idea; a shirt pocket big enough to hold a pint….oh yes try it next time your able, you may never look back. See number 14 for some great looking light spinning due to the dark conditions but I managed to get thier faces focusing on each other.

I was quite proud of the photos overall, next up on this blog are two baptisms and then maybe some Christmas cake making

I’ll talk you through the photos I took.

1 – High hat’s going in the colour theme for the wedding. 2-3 the happy couple during the wedding. 4 -Olivia. 5-My wife looking happy… 6-9 Post wedding kisses and hugs. 10 – Groom on a space hopper – apparently this is normal. 11 – Sat at my table.  12 – that photo opp at the end of everything but before dancing! 13 – First dance. 14 – The couple look on to a room full of people! 15 – pretty flowers on tables. 16 – the greatest invention ever…Pint POCKET!

Till next time…keep it reel.

Wedding #3 Matt and Emma Webster

Hi, this is another blog post regarding another friends wedding. This time the lovely Matt and Emma, on one photo I had do a VERY clever photoshot thing used in gloss mags! What happens is you copy peoples eyes so they are looking the right way, your task is to comment on which photo I have played with.

I was playing drums for the worship band so didn’t get any great mid-wedding photos but I feel i got some nice ones in there, any friends or family reading this feel free to right click and ‘save as’ any images you like, I’m free and easy that way.

Things to note:
Lighting in the reception venue was hard to work with without me having a nice big flash to play with, also movement and dark conditions is a hard thing to do but I think I did well, let me know your thoughts.

Wedding #2 Andy and Claire

This was a great wedding and number 2 of the season, a great friend of mine and someone who introduced me to Jesus marring a girl who is one of the nicest people ever. This was match made in heaven.

The reason for the lack of actual photos during the wedding is due to the fact I was behind the drums playing in the worship band, and it was one of those situations where God really worked through us and enabled us to play quite well despite some prevailing circumstances.

Anyway enough about how ace the couple, the day and God was, here are some photos. Some feature some special effects but most are as they were taken with a few little touches. If you want to keep any just right click and click save as – I don’t mind and they are all loaded as full size images…enjoy.

Feel free to leave comments…

Thanks.

Wedding #1 Clare and Mark – 19 June 2010

So here we go with the first wedding of the season, that of Mrs G’s and now my friends; Clare and Mark. It was a great day and I hope the images reflect that, I do find it hard to catch moment so I lot of these images have either very slow or very fast shutter speeds to enable me to catch that spark we all see at weddings.

This was in June! How behind am I?!?

Hope you enjoy.
