Northumberland Summer Holiday Part 4

When the sun is perfect

In this installment we have Dunstanburgh Castle and the Olympic torch relay no less!

So our journey to Dunstanburgh Castle was across a field witch is natural trust owned and then you enter the castle which is English Heritage owned BUT you can get in for free as a National Trust member – a fact worth knowing as EH sites are BIG RIPS!

As you can see the day was PERFECT for the castle and then we went back to Bamburgh to see the torch relay in the afternoon. Unknown to me, my boss was down the street from my location at this point, how odd!

Taken with a Nikon D3000 18-55mm and 55-200mm NikonR VR DX lens, all images taken in raw and edited on NX2.

Northumberland Summer Holiday Part 3

And so to part 3… Alnwick Gardens and Cragside (National Trust).

Alnwick gardens were stunning and had some great water features, and Cragside is a great mansion set inside stunning grounds, it has the best fireplace I’ve ever seen and in the grounds we came across a massive wood carving! So click on a picture you want to see more of and enjoy…

As is the norm for these images, Taken with a Nikon D3000 using a 18-55mm and 55-200mm VR Nikon Lens – edited using NX2.

Northumberland Summer Holiday Part 2

Sorry for the long delay in getting these photos to you it’s been a busy time during the summer holidays!

The second set of photos are from Holy island or Lindisfarne, a stunning island with a Castle on it, we enjoyed our time there. No photos of the castle as my Boss was busy getting married in it (unknown to me!).

So yeah enjoy the photos and comment and share them. As always taken with Nikon D3000 with an 18-55mm and an 55-200mm Nikon VR lens’, all images were taken RAW and processed with viewNX2

Northumberland Summer Holiday Part 1

Mairi, myself and Bobbie went on Holiday in June to Northumberland, it was such a great time. The first few images are of us at The Angel of the North (on the way up) Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick and then one of the lifeboat at Seahouses. I shot these images in RAW which was great as meant I could edit them in so much detail. If you can shoot in RAW, do it! It always does make post-image processing so much easier.

As ever shot by my Nikon D3000 with a mixture of 18-55mm and 55-200mm Nikon lens. RAW processing done by NX2 click on an image to learn more.
