I know what you did last summer…

Such is my life I haven’t blogged on this for bloody AGES. Truth is loads of stuff has happened and probably too much to go into great detail. What I did want to share is my May Family Holiday to Scotland.

We went into a Crannog, visited a Red Dear farm, went and walks and had a great time.

Summer trip to Chester Zoo

It’s safe to say I’m a little bit behind in writing blogs. A trip to the wonderful Chester Zoo with the in-laws happened absolute months a go…(August 18th). It was brilliant and the excellent Indonesia section was very realistic. Bobbie enjoyed linking that to a couple we know from Church working in Sabah.

So let’s remember when it was warm…

Lakes Holiday 2013: Day 5

Day 5

Another picture perfect day arrived and we went to the small railway on the lake and then the Lakeland Motor Museum.

The train was great and Bobbie is now old enough to get excited about a train and she seemed to really enjoy it. The Lakeland Motor Museum was small but a great way to spend a few hours (even with a screaming child). My favorite picture is Bobbie next to the Pet cars used in Top Gear, it gives a real sense of scale.

At the Lakeland Motor Museum we also got the chance to see some of the Bluebird road and water record holders, it was stunning to see them in real life, the Bluebird car was the stuff of legends for me growing up so seeing my toy in true scale was very special.

We once again went swimming on this day.

Lakes Holiday 2013: Day 1 and 2

Hello and welcome,

Yes I’m blogging with photos again and yes it’s a bit of a series, just chill and enjoy.

So for our family holiday this year we went to the lakes and we couldn’t have chosen a better time to go, we had picture perfect weather each day!

We kicked off day one by driving to the lakes via Hawes; the comically named village and home of wensleydale cheese. Hawes is a great place visit and is popular with bikers, cyclists, walkers, and travelling people in general. We had a meal in the excellent White Hart (see my review here)

The drive up and across was stunning, and we met cyclists and most alarming a traveller with 3 very unruly horses. The horses we so unruly we had to stop while he stopped to control them – did slightly fear the car was going to jumped on by the horse at one point.

So we arrived and promptly got the little one off to bed and cracked open a beer.

Day 2 Brookhole, lunch at Ambelside then a visit to Townend.

Bobbie relaxing at the caravan

We woke up to lovely sunshine on our caravan for the week and me and Bobbie had a little mess about on the veranda. We then got sorted and headed for Brookhole, it has the best aventure playground and because we arrived so early we had the whole thing to ourselves!

Afterwhich we went for lunch and Ambleside – here is the view we had!

and then on to our first National Trust property ‘Townend’. This was a very old building with a stunning collection of old books, interesting clocks and very old furniture

And thus ended day 2. As always the photos were taken by my trusty D3000 using 18-55mm and 55mm-200mm Nikon lens. All photos taken in Raw format.

Take a look at the other days of the Holiday.
